Student Visa Requirement
- Relevant pages of Passports:
- Current passport, previous passport/s & a full copy of any previous passport/s.
- Current passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your intended date of departure from Ireland. A current passport must have sufficient space for a visa to be stamped; at least two empty pages are required. For short-stay visas, the current passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of intended departure from Ireland. For long-stay visas, the current passport must be valid for 12 months from the date of entry into Ireland.
- Visa Application Form:
- Fully completed and signed application summary sheet.

- You must complete the Supplementary Form which is available at https://www.dfa.ie/irish-embassy/india/visas/visa-requirements/ or log on to www.inis.gov.ie
- Photograph: Two color passport-sized photographs not more than 6 months old.
- Photo ID Card/ Business Card: A personal identity card of the applicant such as a National ID/Adhar Card/Driving License and business card (Recommended).
- Cover Letter: A personal letter from the applicant including personal details, the purpose of the visit, and outlining who will be responsible for the full costs of the trip. The letter should be addressed to – The Visa Officer, and the respective visa office, and signed.
- Personal Bank Statements: Original Bank Statements (Personal/Payroll if available) for the last 6 months mentioning the Bank’s name, and telephone number clearly with authorized bank stamp and signature (e-statement is not acceptable).
- Sponsor’s Bank Statements: Original/scanned copy of bank statements from the sponsoring party for the last 6 months mentioning the Bank’s name, and telephone number clearly with authorized bank stamp and signature. (If any).
- Evidence of Other Bank deposits: Copy of other financial documents such as deposit schemes, FDR, Retirement funds, Loan accounts, etc.
- Other Financial Documents: Documentation on your parent’s income, employment details, and finances even if they are not your sponsors.
- Travel Health Insurance: Evidence of medical/travel insurance does not need to be provided with your application. However, the Visa Officer may request it before they make a decision on your application. If your visa is approved, you must have evidence of medical/travel insurance when you arrive at the port of entry (airport/seaport) and must present it to the Immigration Officer on request.
- Police Clearance: The original copy of the Police Clearance Certificate issued from the nearby police station of the Applicant’s present residence.
- Airline Ticket Itinerary: A reserved itinerary for your airline ticket as per the schedule of the trip.
- Previous Refusal Letters: If you have been refused a visa in the past for any country, you must provide the details. The original letter issued to you by the authorities of that country must be provided with your application. Full details of previous visa refusals are on a separate cover letter.
- Academic Certificates and Transcripts: Authenticated original academic certificates and transcripts issued from previously attended academic institutions.
- Enrollment Letter: Original and copy of the Letter of Offer/Letter of Enrolment from an overseas academic institution confirming the student’s admission into a specific study program.
- Payment Receipt of Tuition Fees: A copy of the receipt is acquired as proof of advance tuition fee payment to the academic institution.
- Accommodation Confirmation: A confirmation of accommodation into a dormitory/student hostel or private tenancy for a specific period.
- Other Supporting Documents:
- The original certificate with the results of your English language test.
- If you are a first-time traveler OR have never traveled outside of Asia, you will need to complete and sign the Undertaking on Your Return Form and submit this with your application.
